I’m gonna come right out and admit that I didn’t read this whole post. But, I needed to share two things: 1. I am happy that you are happy and, 2. Your passion and zeal and willingness to go all the way down the rabbit hole for the things you love and enjoy is one of my favorite things about you.

Winter Olympics also always bring a sense of terrific nostalgia and great Mom/Ginny memories for me. Not only was I always attracted to the flair and drama of skating….but it was that rare time (once every 4 years back then as Summer and Winter Olympics used to share the same year) when we were allowed to watch endless Boobtube aka screen time.

Super important call out that this was one of the few times when TV wasn’t capped. I believe it was Barcelona when we paid for some kind of Pay-Per-View package so we wouldn’t miss a moment — perhaps under the guise of keeping our eyes peeled for you on TV!
I'm normally here for your stories about being a stepparent and your sense of humor, but I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed this primer! I'm so excited for the Olympics now!
Coming from a weightlifting/strength sport background, I assumed Ilia was claiming “Quad God” status due to tree-trunk-like legs and capacity to squat a ton of weight (Anna used to get called out as “Quad-nilla” for opposite reasons), so my initial reaction was “too much hype for this slender physique.” Upon further reading about skating, I realize my error 🤦♂️
